Club House

Our club house is the heart of the club, offering a welcoming and relaxed space to unwind before or after time on the water. Members and their visitors can enjoy the comfortable setting, whether catching up with friends, taking in the river views, or simply soaking up the laid-back atmosphere. With convenient kitchen and barbecue facilities, it’s easy to share a casual cook-up, making the clubhouse the perfect spot for both social gatherings and quiet moments by the river. The club house can also be hired privately to both members and non-members, for your own events. Please see the bottom of the Membership & Fees page for details.

Kayaks and Canoes

The kayaking group members meet at least once a week for a social paddle. These regular outings are a great opportunity to build skills, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with fellow paddlers. In addition to the weekly sessions, the group organizes trips further afield, exploring new waterways and taking on more adventurous routes together. Whether it’s a relaxed evening paddle or a full-day excursion, the kayaking group brings together enthusiasm, camaraderie, and a shared love of being on the water.

Boat Building

Toms Boat_edited.jpg

Our club has a roofed workshop area, providing the perfect space for members to design and build small boats in a supportive, hands-on environment. One of the most exciting projects to come out of this workshop is Maiwar, a beautifully crafted wooden rowing boat built by Tom Robinson. Maiwar was more than just a workshop project; Tom set a record in Maiwar, as the youngest person to ever row across the Pacific Ocean solo! This achievement stands as a testament not only to Tom’s determination but also to the club’s spirit of innovation, adventure, and craftsmanship.
